Spain preparing new regulatory framework for renewable energies with substantial decrease of feed-in tariffs
The Spanish Ministry of Industry is designing a new regulatory framework for renewable energies with a substantial cut in the feed-in tariffs. It is still under discussion if this lower tariff will also affect plants currently in operation or only the new ones. Another element under discussion is whether these lower tariffs will be retroactive and on which terms.
Renewable energies under the feed-in tariff system received 5.800 million Euros last year. This year’s trend show a similar income. Only in last April, wind energy received 212,5 million Euros for supplying 17,8% of total electricity demand in March. In the same month, PV energy received 209,2 million for supplying only 1,9% of total electricity demand; CSP received 10,2 million Euros for supplying 0,1% of demand, and the small hydro plants received 37 million for supplying 3,1% of total electricity demand.
