Our expertise

SQ Consult's renewable and clean fossil experts combine three key skills:

  • technical knowledge which allows for an accurate assessment of technologies' degree of maturity.
  • economic modelling for the realisation of scenarios and price curves.
  • legal and regulatory expertise to not only analyse regulatory frameworks and policies but also anticipate on changes.

We have witnessed an increasingly fluid regulatory environment for renewables and clean fossils, leading to yearly changes to subsidy schemes and policies. Project developers struggle to assess the risks involved as policy makers strive to strike a balance between economic rationale and the need for energy transition.

Our services

SQ Consult works at different level of the chain. We advise public customers either in the design phase of their policy-plans (provinces, municipalities) or during the evaluation (European Commission, Evaluation of the Energy Services Directive).

We assist the private sector with portfolio analysis and risk diagnosis, provide market and technology benchmarks. We can also provide benchmarks accross different regions for investors looking to expand their business presence.

Our regulatory support experts have up-to-date knowledge as well as a strong opinion of how markets will and should develop. They combine expertise in administrative, energy and competition law in different countries and can advise customers at all levels of the chain.
