Rosaria Chifari (Msc) is a renewable energy consultant, combining technical expertise with market analysis. She previously worked with Spanish consultancy Factor CO2, identifying business opportunities in the Spanish and Italian renewable energy markets, as well as with Ecofys. She graduated in Territorial and Environmental Engineering from the University of Naples. Within SQ Consult, she conducted worldwide sustainable biomass resource assessments (biofuels, used vegetable oils, waste residues, RDF, energy crops, pellets, etc), bio-based economy studies and feasibility studies for biogas plants. She designed a full new energy supply for the small rural town in the Basque Country and developed the local strategy energy plan for a self sustained energy system for the Municipality of Sitges (Catalonia). She also managed the evaluation of socio-economical impact of wind park proposals for the region of Cantabria in Spain.
Rosaria has furthermore a solid understanding of renewable energy support schemes in Europe, international biofuels sustainability framework and renewable energy project financing mechanisms within the context of Multilateral Banks. In climate change she participated in the evaluation of carbon footprint of GSMA Mobile World Congress 2011 and managed the project “Developing carbon budget and domestic offset projects for Spain” for Friend of the Earth Spain.
