Monique is co-Founder and director of SQ Consult B.V. She is specialized in policy development and business strategy development in renewable energy, climate change and energy efficiency. Monique combines in-depth insight in policy and markets with passion for sustainability and solid business understanding.

Monique holds a M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from Twente University in the Netherlands. She has worked in the field of sustainable energy and climate change since 1994, in various positions leading up to international director.

She has advised a large number of international public and private clients in their sustainable management strategies. Monique worked on various projects for the European Commission including the impact assessment of the proposed Energy Efficiency Directive, the review of the EU-ETS and a series of projects in which the progress to EU target setting was monitored and the EU renewable energy policy framework was further shaped. She supports corporate clients in (re-) designing their corporate strategy in response to upcoming and expected legislative changes, and supports development of business propositions in energy and carbon markets.
