SQ Consult supported Dutch environmental NGO Milieudefensie (Friends of the Earth Netherlands) in its negotiations with the Dutch government and other stakeholders on the National Climate Accord (Nationaal Klimaatakkoord) on issues related to emissions trading. Topics covered the feasibility of implementing an ETS floor price in the Netherlands and the options and impacts for voluntary cancellation of EU ETS allowances connected to the closure of coal-fired power plants. In addition, the project comprised an ad-hoc support facility to respond to questions coming up during the negotiations.
