December 18 , 2018

In December 2018, the UNDP published the discussion paper on “Energy Access Projects and SDG benefits”. UNDP often states that their energy projects have multiple social and economic impacts, it is not always straightforward how these impacts need to be assessed. This discussion paper provides practical guidance on how to assess social and economic benefits and analyzes the potential impact that access to electricity and clean cooking projects can have on meeting the targets of SDG1 (No Poverty), SDG3 (Good health and well-being), SDG4 (Quality education) and SDG5 (Gender equality).
